Rocket Building Fix

Fixes an issue preventing you from starting construction on a new rocket ship.

When you purchase a new rocket ship construction set, there are no available interactions when you try to click on the launch pad and start building the rocket.

The interaction to start building a rocket ship tries to test whether or not you are at a festival, so that it can determine whether or not it should charge you the 1000 simoleon fee to begin construction of the rocket. The test tries to run against the new sub-contests that were added for the Finchwick Fair festivals that came with Cottage Living, but these don’t have the festival street attribute that the test is looking for, so the interaction just seems to break and so nothing shows at all when you click on the rocket launch pad. You can read more about this bug at EA Answers HQ: Can’t build a rocket.

This mod changes the interaction’s festival test so that it only checks specifically for GeekCon and nothing else. This allows the interaction to run normally again.

  • This mod is for people who own The Sims 4 base game and also Cottage Living expansion pack on PC/Mac with update (July 2021) or later installed.
  • This mod changes the start building interaction for rocket ships. If you have any other mods that affect the same tuning files, they may clash with this mod.

    1. It’s working for me. Are you sure you’ve got mods enabled, you’ve installed the mod in the correct folder and you’re trying to fix the specific bug mentioned in the description? It won’t fix other rocket related bugs – only the one mentioned.

      1. Mod’s are enabled, Mod sitting in correct folder (I can see it when I view mods in game), I’ve purchased a rocket, the pad is sitting on my lot, with boxes in the graphic, and none of my sims can interact with it at all. I have the base game and cottage living, all updated. It does not fix the bug.

        1. It seems like the mod also required City Living installed to work properly. But I’ve made some adjustments and uploaded a new version. Try it out and hopefully it should work with only base game and Cottage Living alone.

  1. It works! I was about to change my sim’s aspiration and career because of this bug… Thank you!!

  2. Thank you so much for this! The Get To Work was getting pretty annoying without being able to build the Rocket. Much appreciated! πŸ™‚

  3. I’m trying to download it but it’s not downloading instead it just gives the link I don’t know why that would be?

  4. Thank you! Been looking for a fix for this for a month. Can’t believe EA hasn’t fixed this. Just bought you a coffee!

  5. I’m new to mods, I don’t have a mods folder, just a sims one, and its one that I made, not one that was instantly there.

  6. YAY!!!! Fixed it when Maxis hasn’t!! I was about to give up the game…I kept on moving to different lots and getting frustrated. πŸ™

  7. Fantastic. Glad that i found your fix.
I guess that the people at Maxis are overworked …
